I'll let you in on a little secret here... Heels hurt; but they do make me feel pretty! They push out your chest, elongate your legs and this gives off a very sexy posture. Walking in heels is a fine art to be mastered. With these simple suggestions you will be off and running in no time!


1. Start with low heels. Yes, yes, I know, 6" stilettos are super sexy but you're going to need to build up your skills to pull off stilettos. Start with a small wedge or a low heel. Take normal steps, walk around and feel your calf muscles building. Who needs leg day when you can wear heels! Practice on all types of flooring. Transitions from carpet to flooring is actually difficult so be careful at first and take your time.

2. Choose a chunky heel. This will help distribute your weight evenly across the shoe and will have less risk of going over on your ankle.


3. Find a good fitting shoe. Not all shoes are created equal. You cannot have a heel either too tight or too loose. This is just asking for trouble. Although you could get some shoe stretchers the best bet is to find something that actually fits the first time around. You will also want to try on your shoes and get a size that fits in the afternoon. As we stand all day all our feet tend to swell. Account for this when sizing your shoes and I guarantee you will thank me.
